In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of besan (chickpea flour), 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom powder.
Gradually add 1/4 cup of ghee (clarified butter) and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add 2-3 tablespoons of milk, or enough to form a soft dough.
Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into round balls.
Heat ghee in a deep pan and deep fry the dough balls until golden brown.
Remove the fried balls from the pan and drain excess oil on a paper towel.
In a separate pan, heat 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup of water to make a sugar syrup.
Add a few drops of rose water or cardamom powder to the sugar syrup for extra flavor.
Add the fried dough balls to the sugar syrup and let them soak for a few minutes.
Serve the sweet and syrupy dessert on a plate or bowl. Enjoy!
